Isilon Technical Certification Program FAQ
Q: How do I register for an exam?
A: The exams are administered by Pearson VUE, in one of their 4,000 testing centers worldwide. To register, go to http://www.pearsonvue.com/isilon/, or call 866-600-5442 (US toll-free).
Q: Do I need to take an Isilon technical training class before taking a certification exam?
A: No. You are not required to attend a technical training class before taking a certification exam. However, you will need to have had significant hands-on experience with the product in order to do well on the exams. The best method of preparing for the certification exams is attending an Isilon technical training course. For more information on technical training, see http://www.isilon.com/training/.
Q: How long are the certification exams?
A: Each exam is 60 minutes long. Candidates in non-English speaking countries have an additional 30 minutes, making each exam 90 minutes long.
Q: Are the exams available in my language?
A: Currently, the certification exams are available only in English.

Q: What is the best way for me to study for the certification exams?
A: First, make sure you have extensive hands-on experience with the product. We strongly recommend that you attend an Isilon technical training class (see http://www.isilon.com/training/ for more information). You can also study on your own utilizing the Exam Blueprints.
Q: After I pass an exam, how long will it take me to get my certificate?
A: You will leave the testing center with a printed score report, showing how you did on the exam. Isilon will mail your certificate within 14 days of the completion of the exam.
Q: What score do I need on each exam to pass?
A: The passing score for each exam is 80%.
Q. How much do the certification exams cost?
A. The cost for each exam is $150 (USD) in the USA. For exam costs in other regions, see http://www.pearsonvue.com/isilon/.
Q: What is the Isilon's re-take policy?
A: Isilon's re-take policy is that when a candidate fails an exam, they must wait 14 days before taking the test again. This applies to both the Associate and Professional exams.
